A place of one’s own

‘Amidst the constant flux of life, once the life we knew is swept away, leaving imprints on our mind, we seek to find our place – a space to call our own’

At the intersection between the everyday and the imaginary, Jo Wolf engages in a reflective creative practice that crosses the disciplines of art and design. With a focus on self-referential projects, or as a response to newsworthy events, it is the initial concept that determines the form of each series. Using a selection of mixed media, ideas materialise in acrylic paint, through printing processes, or are constructed in fabric along with other natural materials such as wood, metal and glass. Jo adds a new element or works with a different mix or technique in each project, seeking to capture moments through images and objects, depicting the mundane and the complex in the everyday.
